"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"

John 10:1-10

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber; but he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens; the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers." This figure Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. So Jesus again said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not heed them. I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Pastol an simbolo ni God permi na taggamit sa balaanong libro – “The Lord is my Shepherd,” “O Shepherd of Israel,” “We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture” sanan mahamok pa na na mga berso.

Amo ‘sab an Messiah, Sija ‘sab an Pastol nan mga tawo ni God – “He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arms.”

Si Jesus an Good Shepherd, iula Nija an Ija kinabuhi para hanapon sanan isalbar an mga nawaya na mga karnero.

Waya’y mga karnero dinhi sa ato pero ma-imagine nato na an isa ka shepherd permi gajud nagbantay sa ija mga karnero, na ipusta nija an ija kinabuhi, segurado lamang sija na may kalinaw sanan segurado na safe an ija mga tagbantajan.

Amo ‘sab si Lord, permi ‘sab Sija buyat an mga mata sanan abri an mga talinga para masegurado lamang na an Ija mga anak kabantajan nan marajaw sanan segurado na ‘lingkawas sa mga kadaot.

"Lord Jesus, you always lead me in the way of peace and safety. May I never doubt your care nor stray from your ways. Keep me safe in the shelter of your presence."

"If anyone eats of this bread, he will live for ever"

John 6:44-51

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, `And they shall all be taught by God.' Every one who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. Not that any one has seen the Father except him who is from God; he has seen the Father. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh."

------------------------

Ini’n tag-offer ni Jesus dato na supernatural na kinabuhi pinaagi nan Ija lawas, an tinood  na “bread of life,” amo ini mismo an kinabuhi ni God na Ija inhatag sa tanan mga minahal Nija na anak.

Pero kon dili nato dawaton an Ija tag-offer na kinabuhing waya’y katapusan kaiban an Heavenly Father, dili ‘sab Sija mamugos dato kay taghatagan naman Nija kita nan poder na magdesisyon para sa ato kaugalingon.

Sa pagdawat nato kan Jesus isip “bread of heaven,” dili lamang kon sustansiya para sa ato kinabuhi sanan espiritu an ato indawat kondili pati na an kahimayaan sa umaabot na kalibutan an ato tagdawat gikan Dija.

Pakighaop o pakighiusa kan Christ amo’y bunga nan ato pagdawat nan Eucharist o nan Lord’s Supper na amo’y isab maghatag dato nan kusog para makapanumbalik an ato loving relationship kan God.

------------------------

"Lord Jesus, you are the living bread which sustains me in this life. May I always hunger for the bread which comes from heaven and find in it the nourishment and strength I need to love and serve you wholeheartedly. May I always live in the joy, peace, and unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, both now and in the age to come."

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation"

Mark 16:15-20

And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."  So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it. Amen.

-------------------------

-------------------------

“Lord Jesus, through the gift of your Holy Spirit, you fill us with an indomitable spirit of praise and joy which no earthly trial can subdue. Fill me with your resurrection joy and help me to live a life of praise and thanksgiving for your glory. May I witness to those around me the joy of the gospel and the reality of your resurrection.”

"I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger"

John 6:30-35

So they said to him, "Then what sign do you do, that we may see, and believe you? What work do you perform? Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, `He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" Jesus then said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world." They said to him, "Lord, give us this bread always." Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst."

------------------------

Dinhi indeklarar ni Jesus na: Ako an pan nan kinabuhi (I am the bread of life) – an pan na mismo an kinabuhi ni God, an pan na maghatag nan waya’y katapusan na binabuhi.

------------------------

"Lord Jesus Christ, you are the bread of life. You alone can satisfy the hunger in my heart. May I always find in you, the true bread from heaven, the source of life and nourishment I need to sustain me on my journey to the promised land of heaven."

"Doing the works of God"

John 6:22-29

On the next day the people who remained on the other side of the sea saw that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away alone. However, boats from Tiberias came near the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks. So when the people saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum, seeking Jesus. When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you come here?" Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man will give to you; for on him has God the Father set his seal." Then they said to him, "What must we do, to be doing the works of God?" Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."

---------------------------

---------------------------

"Lord Jesus, you alone can satisfy the deepest longing and hunger in our hearts. May I always hunger for the imperishable bread, that I may be satisfied in you alone as the True Bread of Heaven. Nourish and strengthen me that I may serve you with great joy, generosity, and zeal all the days of my life".

"He who believes in the Son has eternal life"

John 3:31-36

He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth belongs to the earth, and of the earth he speaks; he who comes from heaven is above all. He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony; he who receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true. For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for it is not by measure that he gives the Spirit; the Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand. He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.

---------------------------

An trabaho nan Holy Spirit an pagsibya nan kamatuoran ugsa na taglang’an ni Jesus an mga disciple na notuo sila Dija kay puno man Sija nan Spirit na tagbubo ni God the Father Dija.

Kon dawaton nato an Holy Spirit na ihatag ni Jesus dato, hibay’an sanan hisab’tan nato an kamatuoran ni God kay Sija man an Word of God.

Despuwes, kon pilion nato an boses ni God sanan himoon nato an Ija kagustuhan, hibay’an nato sanan katagamtaman nato an kinabuhi na gikan gajud mismo kan God.

Pero kon moinsister kita na sun’don nato an ato kaugalingon palajo kan God sanan sa Ija kagustuhan, amo’y tagpili nato an kamatajon – isa ka espiritwal na kamatajon na amo’y mopatay ‘sab nan ato kayag hangtud na waya na’y mabilin dato kondili an ato pagka-waya’y bili, waya’y gugma, waya’y kamatuoran, waya’y karajawan, waya’y kalinaw, sanan waya’y kalipay.

Hain ma’y ato pilion, an dayan pasingod nadto kan God o an dayan palajo Dija?

---------------------------

"Lord Jesus Christ, let your Holy Spirit fill me and transform my heart and mind that I may choose life – abundant life in you and with you. And give me the courage and strength to always discern good from evil and to reject everything that is false and contrary to your holy will."

"God so loved the world that he gave us his only Son"

John 3:16-21

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not condemned; he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God.

----------------------------

----------------------------

"Lord Jesus Christ, your love is better than life itself. May your love consume and transform my life that I may desire you above all else. Help me to love what you love, to desire what you desire, and to reject what you reject."

"You must be born anew"

John 3:7-15

Do not marvel that I said to you, `You must be born anew.' The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with every one who is born of the Spirit." Nicodemus said to him, "How can this be?"Jesus answered him, "Are you a teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand this? Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony. If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life."

-----------------------------------

An kadaugan nan krus ni Jesus Christ amo’y mohatag dato nan makadajaw na gahum na nahitabo pinaagi nan Ija pagkamatay sanan pagkabanhaw.

Holy Spirit an magpaligdong dato kay amo ma’y ini mogiya sa ato mga buluhaton para sa kahimayaan ni God – ini an espiritu na Ija tagpadaya sa tawo.

Importante sa ato mga kinabuhi an pagka-langsang sa krus ni Jesus sanan an Ija pagkabanhaw kay amo ma’y ini naghatag dato nan karajawan sanan paghalajo dato sa tungo o sa balikas nan kamatajon.

An krus ni Jesus Christ an nakadaog batok sa kasay’anan sanan kamatajon na amo’y naghatag sa mga tawo na motuo Dija nan waya’y katapusan na kinabuhi.

Si Jesus Christ ra gajud an makabag’o dato tanan pinaagi nan Ija gasa sanan sa trabaho nan Ija Spirit para makaambit kita nan Ija himaya.

"Lord Jesus Christ, your death brought life for us. Fill me with your Holy Spirit that I may walk in freedom and joy in the knowledge of your great victory over sin and death."

"Unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God"

John 3:1-8

Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him." Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, `You must be born anew.' The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with every one who is born of the Spirit."

-------------------------------

-------------------------------

"Lord Jesus Christ, you offer us a new birth in the Holy Spirit. Renew in me the gift of faith and new life in your Holy Spirit. Help me to draw near to you and to believe in your life-giving word. May your kingdom come and may your will be done in my life today, tomorrow, and always."
